video reflection:
His appreciation of skeletal forms and obsession with organic design has opened a new realm of possibilities for designers. The idea of using nature's design to appeal to the instinctive appeal of humans while addressing comfort is brilliant. The water bottle that created by Ross Lovegrove is rather interesting, it capture the form of water and it’s amazing how the water bottle reflects a feeling of putting a skin on top of the water. The organic shape not only looking ascetically pleasing but also satisfies its functionality, the shape of the water bottle not only just fits no adult’s hand, due to its organic shape it can also fit on a children’s hand.
Lovegrove has exceptional observational skills as an artist, but lacks the designer's common sense of when an organic design is most appropriate, often unnecessarily injecting it into his ideas. Lovegroves's ideology will be one which inspires industrial designers in the future.
It’s evidenced in his design, Ross Lovegrove basically used a lot of nature element and combining them together in order to from organic design, as we can see in many of his design pieces involves with human bone structure, blood cells or even shapes of humans DNA.The stare case in his studio really fascinates me has, he has surly suggested his theory of ‘fat free’ and ‘healthy design’ his design. Therefore it reflects simplicity and fluidity, he sees the natural appearance and adapt them into the design process.

The bottom part of the bag, I have used the sole from the shoe. The main purpose of the shoe is balance. As a woman, when I place the bag down and when the bag falls and flips around unattended, I wished that perhaps something that balances the bag will be helpful to let it stand. Shoes are also an item that changes the trend consistently. Shoe laces are also applied into my product as the tightening the bag.
From top to bottom, the finish of the fashion for today.

There are 3 parts to it, the hanger, the pot holder and the flower pot itself. This pot is designed for the air plants which does not need earth and water. In other words it could be in everywhere, in the room, bathroom and main lounge.
It is made out of 0.6 polypropylene, and adhesive mirror tape used. It is cheap material, flexible and light. It can also come with other colors relatively easily.

IV Pole
I believe that every child would have been to hospitals at least once and the majority of the memories will be pain, unfamiliar, medicine and etc. To approach young children with their familiar sites and sense, I converted the cold, steel IV pole into a form of an animal giraffe in this case. I took the different likes of animals from children and took a consideration of possible animals that will be able to convert into IV pole, which were elephants, rabbits, panda, dogs, cats and lots more. The use of soft fabric as the head will approach to children something that they know, something that they love, and something that they have at home. Soft toys also make children more secure and warm and you could see them in many pictures on my mood board holding it tight towards them.
Through the use of this particular IV pole, the doctors and nurses will be able to communicate with their young passengers with confident and quickly since children will be calm and used to the surroundings and not be scared. The bright colors used in IV pole target for children and grab their attention not as an unfamiliar pole that they have never seen before but perhaps a new toy that they wish to take a look and bring it close towards them, which is the function of the IV pole. It needs to be near the passenger.
I also applied the bus handle into the IV pole to enhance the more comfortable use of the product. And also the chair principle that moves up and down for the variation of heights.
Since the head of the giraffe is made out of fabric, it will get dirty eventually, and then you simply take the head out, and wash it as it is like normal clothing.

Video Reflection: Don Norman - Emotional Design
Don Norman discussed the emotional design, the design that affects our human lifestyle. He considers “form follows function” which means that we automatically take a consideration of the product’s or design’s colour, typeface, the general appearance and beauty of the objects or designs. Not only the physical appearance, but the behavioral function of a particular object is part of his argument. The feel and the control of a particular object and the desire of people that actually wanting to control it. Lastly, he mentioned the “super ego” which refers to people who want to grab attention from other people which could be either positive or negative. He strongly considered all designers must take a consideration of these reactions from people.
The different ideas and designs are created to affect our lives, which fascinates me how it drags me into it. The teapot designs were extremely outstanding as the designer input our human feature of the movement of muscles to a non living thing and therefore it is now emotional. This was a new way to approach different objects. Other designs such as different logos, an environment friendly objects, a extremely expensive watches and etc. I do agree the fact that Norman mentioned that the in today society, emotional design do charge a great affect upon us by looking at the comparison of two watches. More people prefer the expensive watch which looks good, and recognizable by people instead of a functional watch that looks ugly.

Through analyzing a product in focus allowed me to see its visual features and the overall comprehension and also able to compare and see what different people think in variety areas. Through this course I was able to see the bigger picture of industrial design field and I am looking forward to improve the thinking knowledge upon this area.

Review: "David Kelley: Human centred design"
Based on the London subway station he designed an interactive installation in “London Science Museum” which is primarily on digital and biomedical issues. They designed an interactive wall which is four stories tall. The main idea and goal of this project was to bring back some of the feedback from people who had gone to the museum were given and displayed on the wall so everyone could examine. Like London station line, they have produced a tube line as if the trains are the way that people think and when the little tubes arrive at the station it expands what it is saying so people can read. On the IMAX Theater there are big open spaces that tables displayed and have interactive games. The topics include male fertility, choosing the sex of your baby and what will it be on driver less car.
Excerpts from “The Big Idea” by CBS Sunday Morning, Scott Adams asked for the creation of Gilbert’s ultimate cubicle. He said “I realized that in some point I might be the world’s expert and what’s wrong with cubicles. So we thought, wouldn’t be fun to get together with some of the smartest design guys in the world and try to figure out to make the cubical better”. The team set the cubical and experience how it feels like and figure out the problem. One of the groups built the walls as screens for the computer and for photos. And the second group built the walls as alive and they actually give the Gilbert a group hug, and behind this humorous idea they were giving the cubical more human. The final cubical chosen is opened and connected to the environment so it is mentally healthy, and the flower inside the cubical responses to human which means it stands up when human is inside the cubical. There were also some touches such as putting a fish tank on the wall and a punch bag with the boss’s face on it.
They designed the “recycling of the water” had the main concept of quiet and peaceful inside of the building. The information displayed is straight forward to exhibit and understand the process of the recycling.
The spyfish was the whole new idea for the people who are interested on under the sea but could not examine because of their lack of abilities. It’s made from the company called H2 Eye targeting the people who enjoys being on the sea but does not scuba dive. Through this machine, people can scuba dive without getting wet.
As provided above, the effects from the renovated technology into design field is huge and this will continuously develop over time for improvement of our society.
