video reflection:

Lovegrove strongly reflects how he transform the modern technology into industrial designs products of how he change everyday object into a very natural from. Thus he has emphasized the concept of DNA design nature and art. Thru watching the video I have discovered that organic design is a style of design that demonstrate the respect to earth and the already existing form.
His appreciation of skeletal forms and obsession with organic design has opened a new realm of possibilities for designers. The idea of using nature's design to appeal to the instinctive appeal of humans while addressing comfort is brilliant. The water bottle that created by Ross Lovegrove is rather interesting, it capture the form of water and it’s amazing how the water bottle reflects a feeling of putting a skin on top of the water. The organic shape not only looking ascetically pleasing but also satisfies its functionality, the shape of the water bottle not only just fits no adult’s hand, due to its organic shape it can also fit on a children’s hand.

Lovegrove has exceptional observational skills as an artist, but lacks the designer's common sense of when an organic design is most appropriate, often unnecessarily injecting it into his ideas. Lovegroves's ideology will be one which inspires industrial designers in the future.
It’s evidenced in his design, Ross Lovegrove basically used a lot of nature element and combining them together in order to from organic design, as we can see in many of his design pieces involves with human bone structure, blood cells or even shapes of humans DNA.The stare case in his studio really fascinates me has, he has surly suggested his theory of ‘fat free’ and ‘healthy design’ his design. Therefore it reflects simplicity and fluidity, he sees the natural appearance and adapt them into the design process.

Bags. For fashion, bags are the essential item for both women and men. Fashion. Fashion trend changes fast, and sometimes it is really hard to keep up and does require money. My main concept on this up cycle project was to produce a new product of fashion using the past trend. Cloths such as jeans and T-shirts don’t normally wear out but falls behind the trend and therefore I applied those main principles of the property into my idea.

The bottom part of the bag, I have used the sole from the shoe. The main purpose of the shoe is balance. As a woman, when I place the bag down and when the bag falls and flips around unattended, I wished that perhaps something that balances the bag will be helpful to let it stand. Shoes are also an item that changes the trend consistently. Shoe laces are also applied into my product as the tightening the bag.

From top to bottom, the finish of the fashion for today.

Video Reflection-Seymour Powell : Designing Dream Machines

This was a video that really showed insight into the art to the designer and the design world. It takes the viewer on a journey of the development of several dream machines. From receiving the brief to brainstorming and insight into the extensive research required for each product. The main point that the video discussed was the constant communication is required. This doesn’t mean from only designers, but all ideas and development must refer back to the clients. Through affective communication, the consumer’s needs are focused thoroughly. Seymour Powell highlights the attention to detail and relentless effort undertaken in a fully successful model. This video has provided a fundamental base and processes for coming industrial students do learn.

Video reflection- Annie Leonard :The story of stuff

Annie Leonard’s video poses an important message about consumerism and she begins by introducing the “materials economy” or life stages of a product: Extraction – Production – Distribution – Consumption – Disposal.Leonard to educate the general population about linear system, its destructive nature and the implications this bears on a planet with finite resources. Leonard’s video points out that people in our society refer to those shiny, new products. These video inspires designers to make designers to think more into products and the issues that it will create. The video encourages designers to steer away from design practices such as planned and perceived obsolescence. Thinking the products as money production is not an acceptable ethical action as a designer, and therefore Leonard strongly suggests that as a designer and a creator we should all think about ‘designing’ new things. Leonard's video brings to mind the thought of needs versus wants. It serves as a wake-up call of sorts to designers to be aware of the amount they take from the environment.y

Flower Pot and the hanger
My project was about being simple but able to place it anywhere at any time. When the receiver receives the gift, they should be able to make the product without hassle with enjoyment.

There are 3 parts to it, the hanger, the pot holder and the flower pot itself. This pot is designed for the air plants which does not need earth and water. In other words it could be in everywhere, in the room, bathroom and main lounge.

It is made out of 0.6 polypropylene, and adhesive mirror tape used. It is cheap material, flexible and light. It can also come with other colors relatively easily.
